Maintenance Mechanic – Temp to Hire – Monday through Friday – 7:30 am to 4:00 pm – will be overtime/weekends

Clean Community Building and the laundry facility every week day morning, and at other times as needed, and ensure both Community Building and South Laundry areas are cleaned and maintained.

Clean vacated units and restore to rentable condition, including the following repairs, as needed per unit: painting, remove old and install new carpet and/or tile, base trim, bi-fold doors, appliance installation, minor plumbing or electrical repairs, etc.  Report to office when units are ready for occupancy.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor with

  • Keeping the plumbing, heating, and electrical equipment in all buildings and scattered-site units in good working order.
  • Maintaining the Maintenance Shop, all equipment; tractor, mowers, trimmers, machinery, etc. serviced and in good condition.
  • Keeping the grounds and landscape trimmed, watered, and free from excessive trash accumulation or littering.
  • Removing snow, grass, leaves from sidewalks and parking areas.

Record hours worked and work performed at scattered-site units.

Complete Work Order forms.

Clean work area, tools, and equipment.

Report unusual or extraordinary circumstances regarding the property or residents including repairs needed.

Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with residents, vendors, contractors, and staff.

Complete all repairs according to Uniform Physical Condition Standards (UPCS).

Maintain thorough knowledge of policies and procedures.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor with daily tasks as needed.

Fill in for Maintenance Supervisor when absent.  Available to be on call 24/7, holidays, and weekends in Maintenance Supervisor’s absence.

Other duties, as assigned.

Maintain regular and consistent attendance and perform work without direct supervision.

Travel as needed for training.

Respond to off-shift and weekend emergency situations within 30 minutes.

Education & Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent and 2+ years of experience and or training; or equivalent combination of experience and training.

Valid driver’s license
