Lot Crew Technician- Temp to Hire position – Monday – Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm – Possible overtime – Must be able to travel for up to 10 days at a time. All travel expenses and daily per diem paid.
Purpose:
The Lot Crew Technician will support the daily operations of the auction site by assisting with vehicle and lot management, ensuring smooth and efficient flow of auction activities, and providing excellent customer service to buyers and sellers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the receiving, inspecting, and staging of vehicles and items for auction.
- Move vehicles and equipment safely around the lot using company vehicles or equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the auction lot and site areas.
- Help with loading and unloading auction items, including vehicles and heavy equipment.
- Support auction staff during live auctions by facilitating lot access and item movement.
- Conduct basic vehicle checks (e.g., fluid levels, tire pressure) and report any issues.
- Place tags and cable keys on auction items to identify and organize them.
- Line equipment and hold tape as directed for lot setup and auction preparation.
- Use dollies and connect/disconnect glad hands as part of vehicle and trailer preparation.
- Clean and prepare the lot site to maintain a safe and professional environment.
- Operate and tend machinery as required to support auction operations.
- Spot trucks and trailers to ensure safe positioning during loading and unloading.
- Communicate effectively with auction staff, buyers, sellers, and drivers.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors to support auction operations.
Skills:
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to operate vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good physical stamina for lifting, moving, and standing for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to perform simple vehicle checks.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Environment:
- Work is primarily outdoors on an auction lot with exposure to weather conditions.
- Physical activity including lifting, walking, and standing for long periods.
- Fast-paced environment requiring attention to safety and detail.
- Potential travel up to 50% for off-site auctions, pickups, or lot organization.
- May require overtime or extended hours during auction preparation and events.
