Parts Department Assistant – Temp to Hire position –  Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm – Some Saturdays ( March – November)

Duties:

– Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
– Assist customers in finding the products they need
– Process sales transactions accurately using a cash register or POS system
– Maintain inventory control by monitoring stock levels and restocking as needed
– Provide product knowledge and answer customer inquiries
– Handle customer complaints or concerns in a professional manner
– Maintain a clean and organized work area

Skills:
– Inventory control: Experience in managing inventory levels and ensuring accurate stock counts
– Retail math: Proficient in basic math skills for calculating prices, discounts, and handling cash transactions
– Vehicle maintenance: Knowledge of basic maintenance to assist customers with marine parts or accessories
– Negotiation: Ability to negotiate pricing or terms with customers or suppliers
– Dealership: Familiarity with dealership operations and marine industry is a plus
– POS (Point of Sale) system: Proficiency in using a computerized system for processing sales transactions
– Sales: Strong sales skills to upsell or cross-sell products to customers
– Cash register: Experience in operating a cash register accurately and efficiently

-This position reports to our Service Manager and involves research, ordering, and stocking boat and motor parts.

– This position will enter manufacture warranty claims via manufactures websites.
