Job Information

 Inboard/Outboard Mechanical Technician  –   Temp to Hire – Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm –  Saturday 9:00 am to noon. Possible overtime.

Responsibilities:
Operate, maintain and clean machinery and equipment
Troubleshoot and repair any mechanical failures
Complete work orders and requests in a timely fashion
Perform routine preventative maintenance
Adhere to safety policies and procedures

Qualifications:
Previous experience in boat or small 2 cycle repair or other related fields
Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings
Familiarity with machinery and equipment
Ability to handle physical workload, have tools, a driver’s license, also a reliable vehicle.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Advanced knowledge of Boat/Marine engine repair and maintenance and rigging.
Knowledge of customer service standards and procedures.
Ability to drive motor vehicles and boats.
Ability to back up a trailer while connected to a vehicle .
Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
Ability to answer phones and customer questions when needed
Knowledge of shop maintenance and clean-up procedures.

Conditions of Employment:
Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
