Seed Treater – Temp to Hire – Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 3:00 pm in September hours change to 1:00 pm to 9:00 pm – possible overtime and weekends

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Seed Treater to join our seed production plant. This role is responsible for applying chemical treatments, coatings, or enhancements to seed corn to protect against pests and ensure optimal performance in the field. The Seed Treater ensures precise application and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and calibrate seed treatment equipment to apply fungicides, insecticides, or other seed coatings accurately.
  • Measure and mix treatment chemicals according to specified formulations and safety guidelines.
  • Monitor seed treatment processes to ensure uniform application and compliance with quality standards.
  • Inspect treated seeds for proper coating coverage and quality, addressing any inconsistencies.
  • Blending refuge with main components.
  • Maintain accurate records of treatment batches, chemical usage, and production data for traceability.
  • Clean and maintain treatment equipment to prevent cross-contamination, treatment chunks/flakes, and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with quality control and production teams to meet daily treatment schedules and seed quality goals.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; experience in seed treatment or agricultural production preferred.
  • Knowledge of seed treatment chemicals, application techniques, or equipment is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure precise application and quality control.
  • Ability to handle hazardous materials safely and follow safety protocols.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Basic math skills for measuring chemicals and recording data accurately.
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
