Infant/Toddler Teacher – Full time temp to hire positions – 8:00 am to 5:30 pm – Monday through Friday (hours will vary) – would also consider Part Time workers
PRIMARY FUNCTION AND RELATIONSHIP: to assume responsibility for duties involved in the care of teaching of children enrolled in Child Care and in providing support to the children’s parents as needed. Activities provided by teachers should stimulate and enhance growth in social-emotional, physical, cognitive, and language domains.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other similar and related duties may be assigned.
- Interacts with children and encourages their involvement in activities.
- Provides a warm, safe and caring environment that is kept orderly, clean, and appealing.
- Plans, prepares, and implements daily activities (indoor AND outdoor) as they relate to the curriculum.
- Oversee all mealtime/snack time activities and related record keeping (ex. Daily sheets/ Brightwheels/ USDA forms).
- Assists with toileting or changing each child’s diaper in a timely manner.
- Maintains daily attendance records.
- Maintains good communication with parents daily through the use of verbal communication, daily sheets, notes, or Brightwheel.
- Works with other staff members to form a positive, supportive team atmosphere.
- Maintains adherence to all ELC policies and procedures, and all state licensing regulations.
- Must work the days and hours to perform all assigned responsibilities and tasks, be punctual and timely in meeting all performance requirements, including but not limited to, attendance standards and work deadlines.
- Attends a minimum of 12 hours of Early Childhood related in-service training each calendar year.
- Maintain current Infant/Child CPR and 1st Aid.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to effectively interact and relate to children in a developmentally appropriate manner.
- Must be sensitive to individual children’s differences and needs and be willing to adjust the program and curriculum to meet those individual needs.
- Must be motivated to learn and grow in an education environment; and be willing to continue and increase knowledge in the field of Early Childhood Education.
- Must be able to relate with and speak to parents in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Must be willing to work in a team environment; willing to share ideas and be open to other’s ideas; be flexible and willing to compromise.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of a High School Diploma or GED and have 1500 verified clock hours of experience in an organized group activity for young children, or a written plan to acquire 45 hours of department approved training that is complete within 6 months of hire.

- Ability to get along with parents.
- Ability to plan and implement appropriate daily activities for children in order to develop social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills both in a group setting and one on one.
- Ability to serve as a model for children, and others who may enter the building.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Must accurately fill out a Health Information Report yearly.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and in case of an emergency lift up to 100 lbs with the help of other personnel.
- Must be able to spend a great deal of time on feet, in addition to bending, walking and sitting on the floor to play with children.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Must pass all applicable background checks. Must possess a valid driver’s license from the state in which you reside. Must complete Safe With You Training within your first 60 days of employment.
